This week we had our last group trip and it was to Ica. This time instead of a plane we took a five-hour bus ride. Again we had to wake up bright and early, which was not good for me. I had just gotten a cold two days before the trip. So the night before the trip I had a fever, was dripping sweat, and shivering like if it was 20 degrees in my room.
I got up at 5:30 A.M and dragged my self out of bed and slowly began packing. I then went downstairs and as I was getting to the door my host mom said my name and I jumped. She asked if I wanted a ride to the bus stop and of course I said yes. She even gave my girlfriend Elise and my three other friends a ride. We got to the bus stop and boarded an hour later. The five hour long trip was miserable I still had a fever, the bus was freezing and I had no blanket. Once we got to the hotel we were told we had to wait two in a half hours until we could check in so I just laied on a couch and slept.
Eventually Erick, my roommate, and I got checked in and we both took a nap since we both weren’t feeling too well. We even said no to sand boarding one of the main reasons for the trip but it was for the best. Once everyone got back I was feeling much better. A group of us had some drinks and then went to sleep because yet again we had to wake up bright and early to go to the lagoons.
We woke up and got on an hour-long bus ride to the lagoons. Then we got on our boat, which was the slowest of all the boats out that day. The ocean was so beautiful and a minute out we got to see some dolphins! I was like look dolphins! We then went on to see many birds that poop on the rock islands which people come and clean up and use it as fertilizer. There are houses on these lands and people come here every seven years to clean up and they stay there for five months! We also got to see many sea lions and the males are huge! It was a very fun trip but after 30 minutes I was ready to go back.
When we got back to the hotel we all had to enjoy our last day at the hotel. We got some drinks and began the day. Tonight we were going to a discoteca. The night went well we all got back safe and we got some rest. These trips are where the best memories are made!
